Unpacking at the new house

Moving and the subsequent unpacking of my studio has put a major crimp in my art schedule. The 2009 holidays were full of unexpected family emergencies and a move to a new (and bigger house.) As of today I have unpacked my studio and can start getting back on track. What a relief! Here is a picture of the new studio, alas without any decorations yet, but up and working. Yeah! The pieces you see in various stages of development are part of what I’m calling, “The Emma Project.” As a warm-up I’ve been doing several pieces of a cat named Emma, in various mediums. Emma belongs to my dear friend Max. More on the Emma project in the coming days…

Welcome!

This is my new studio blog and I’m very excited about it. I’ve had a personal blog for some time and that’s where I’ve been posting most of my new artwork for few years now. Now that I’m a working artist again I have this new blog to go with my shiny new website, Flying Pony Studios. As the days unfold I hope to make this an interesting place to visit. Please stay tuned!

The painting shown here is part of a watercolor trompe l'oil series I did a few years back, it's called “Siegfried in the Forest.”
